Intercultural Nursing Leadership Circle
Improving Health Care Environments for Multicultural Communities
The purpose of this project is to improve the health of a community through developing the knowledge, skills, connections and cultural competence of nurse managers. Objectives of the project are:
  1. Identify and implement strategies for enhancing the cultural competence of managers, particularly as it relates to managing within multicultural communities
  2. Develop learning modules for incorporating cultural competence into effective management, and collaborate with educational institutions to incorporate these into nursing curricula
  3. Establish a resource network for managers with community leaders, health care providers and other key stakeholders
  4. Evaluate changes in health care use associated with a more culturally sensitive environment.
