March 2002 - Joanne Disch was elected to the Allina Health System Board of Directors for a 3 year term. Allina Health System is a network of hospitals, clinics and care services that employs more than 22,200 employees and serves individuals in Minnesota and eastern Wisconsin. It includes 16 hospitals, 2 nursing homes, 44 clinics and has annual net revenues of almost $3 billion.
April 2002 - Joanne Disch was elected to a six-year term on the AARP National Board of Directors. AARP has approximately 35 million members, and state offices in each state and Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Washington DC. The organization offers a wealth of services to its members who are 50 years and older. Roughly half of the members work some portion of time.
April 2006 - Dr Disch was elected Chair of the Board of Directors at the organization's biennial National Leadership Conference in Baltimore. In her two-year term, Dr. Disch will work with the Board to provide leadership and to ensure coordination and efficiency as the Board conducts its business.
